black friday.the day before thanksgiving we stop at a red light and i aimlessly stare out the window, trying to envision a hypothetical car crash that would be strong enough to rip a limb from someone's body.black friday.
"what are you thinking about?" you ask me, and i can tell that you want me to say something sweet and poetic, maybe about the slope of your shoulders or the shadows that are cast by your eyelashes.
i don't want you to know that i'm imagining trying to hug you with one arm, so instead i bury my face in your shoulder and mumble, "cars."
